Lopetegui is a victim, not the culprit

Madrid lost their greatest scorer and didn't reinforce the squad, though that could be resolved in 2019 with the planned assault on Neymar, Florentino Perez's obsessive dream.
But Los Blancos will not understand their future should they lose that pursuit and the future transitions and plans will be up in the air.
Madrid is about victory. Madrid is today, not tomorrow. And this Madrid without Ronaldo has been doing very badly.
Florentino Perez could not keep Zidane and thought that progressing with the young players was enough.
Sevilla warned him to sign a striker and Mariano arrived, but there was no replacement for Mateo Kovacic.
A goalkeeper came in without being summoned by Lopetegui and he was not listened to during the summer when he wanted reinforcements in the midfield.
It was already known that players would find the season difficult because of the World Cup.
Conclusion: Madrid have been weakening in recent years and now have become a team that loses must-win games when they previously won games that they should lose.
The simple thing is to point to Lopetegui, but it is fairer to think of him as a victim and not a culprit.

Barcelona corporate director Pancho Schroder concedes Lionel Messi's huge buyout clause may not be enough to frighten off big spenders. The Argentine maestro put a halt to speculation he could leave the Catalan giants by signing a contract extension until 2021 in November, with the deal including a €700 million release clause. But Schroder told Sky Sports: "We have established a clause that we consider sufficient for Messi to retire at Barcelona, but, having said that, a year ago we thought that Neymar's clause was also good enough to keep him and last summer it proved that it was not so. Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has dismissed as “fake news” allegations from a US woman that he raped her in a Las Vegas hotel room in 2009. “What they said today? Fake, fake news,” the Portuguese player said in an Instagram video. “They want to promote [themselves by using] my name. It’s normal. They want to be famous to say my name, but it is part of the job. I am a happy man and all good.” His comments come after German magazine  Der Spiegel  published an interview with Kathryn Mayorga in which she publicly identified herself as the woman making the allegation. The same magazine last year published a  report  stating Ronaldo had reached a $375,000 settlement with an unnamed woman in 2010.
