Solari: A Real Madrid supporter and a fan of Messi.

Image
Before coaching  Real Castilla , the Argentine served as a newspaper columnist and in one of his articles he hailed his compatriot's talent. "Scorer is intrinsic to  Messi  in the same way that storms, lightning, or hurricanes, are atmospheric phenomena," he wrote. "Every time  Messi  receives the ball the earth shakes, everyone is silent and rival coaches sink their heads between their shoulders and put their hands in their pockets, like someone who has just seen lightning and has no choice but to wait the thunder. "The air trembles a few seconds and then the goal is heard." After  Messi  had won his fourth  Ballon d'Or, Solari  expressed his opinion on the controversial debate about who the best player in the world was. "The difference between  Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo  is in the  Ballon d'Or  awards," he noted. " Cristiano  is the best player in the world because  Messi  plays another spor...

In an interview with France Football, he has discussed the lack of warmth and affection he felt in his relationship with the main man at  Real Madrid . Kenya’s Abraham Kiptum broke the men’s world record* at the Medio Maratón de Valencia Trinidad Alfonso on Sunday (28), clocking 58:18 at the IAAF Gold Label road race to take five seconds off the mark set by Eritrea's Zersenay Tadese in 2010. On a perfect day for distance running, the 15-man lead pack went through the first 10 kilometres in 28:02. Shortly afterwards the long-legged Kiptum broke away from the rest of the pack and his 15-kilometre split of 41:40 – just seven seconds slower than Tadese’s equivalent split from his world record run – suggested that Kiptum was on course to break his PB of 59:09 set six weeks ago in Copenhagen. Having covered the second 10-kilometre section in 27:16, Kiptum strode home in 58:18 to break the world record by five seconds. “I can’t believe it, I’m over the moon,” said 29-year-old Kiptum. “Obviously I knew I was in good shape because I set a PB last month in Copenhagen but I was eager to run in Valencia because it’s one of the flattest...

Lopetegui is a victim, not the culprit

Image
Madrid lost their greatest scorer and didn't reinforce the squad , though that could be resolved in 2019 with the  planned assault on Neymar, Florentino Perez's obsessive dream. But Los Blancos will not understand their future should they lose that pursuit and the future transitions and plans will be up in the air. Madrid is about victory. Madrid is today, not tomorrow. And this Madrid without Ronaldo has been doing very badly. Florentino Perez could not keep Zidane and thought that progressing with the young players was enough. Sevilla warned him to sign a striker and Mariano arrived , but there was no replacement for  Mateo Kovacic. A goalkeeper came in without being summoned by Lopetegui and he was not listened to during the summer when he wanted reinforcements in the midfield. It was already known that players would find the season difficult because of the World Cup. Conclusion: Madrid have been weakening in recent years and now have become a team that los...
